Myla attended Pioneer High School, where she played volleyball her freshman through junior years. During that time she also played for the Dynamix Volleyball Club, most often as an outside hitter, but also as a middle or opposite when needed. She transferred to Esparto High School and after graduation she moved to Moraga to attend St. Mary's College of CA on an academic scholarship.

She graduated with honors in 2015, earning her Bachelor's in Psychology and Business. Since, Myla has focused on completing her Master's Degree in School Counseling, coaching volleyball for the local YMCA, and planned her wedding! She is currently working as a school counselor at Woodland High School, completing hours at the elementary level, and still putting in time at her family's local business. Myla is happy to be back and assistant coaching in a competitive setting for the club she is an alumni of!

QUALIFIER

SUNDAY, JANUARY 26TH

We started off with an uphill battle; several girls had missed practice(s) meaning they would have to sit a set for each one missed. This created an obstacle for our team as the girls had to adjust to the new rotation. Although it was difficult, we are very proud of their ability to work as a team and help each other find comfort in the new situation. Additionally, our serving has improved tremendously. At our first two tournaments we had a total of 29 missed serves each day and this tournament that number was reduced to 20. Chelsea even had four aces in one match! Jackie served with 100% accuracy for the day and Ella served with a 92.9%! Overall, we are very proud of each player's improvement. We would also like to highlight Chelsea, Megan, and Annie for their successful blocks- this was huge for our team! As coaches, we also appreciated Taylor and Keeley's optimism on and off the court, both cheering on their teammates and encouraging progress.

non-league #3

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH

Non-League #3 started off with a break for 15 White, which was used as a time to eat breakfast as a team and exchange the most original valentines the coaches had ever seen! Our first match was against "Varsity VBC 16 Julissa." It took a while for the girls to wake up but they improved significantly in the second set gaining kills, blocks, and aces. Once the momentum picked up, it was amazing to see the smiles and the DESIRE to win; however, we ultimately lost the match 11-25 and 22-25. This was our first ever match where the girls did not have a single missed serve! HUGE!!! This match was followed by reffing assignments which then led us into our next match against "SPVC 16 Eugene." The match against SPBC Eugene was one where we became our own enemies. We got into a groove of dropped balls and not trusting our teammates and unfortunately lost 15-25 and 7-25.

After our second match in pool play, we had a break. The lovely parents of our players planned and provided an amazing lunch. We had taco salads and delicious treats! Thank you parents!!!

Our third and final match of pool play was against "SPVC 16 Mike." Sadly, our passing got the best of us and we had several missed serves. However, it is important to note that Ella got 3 aces, Chelsea 1, Megan 1, and Taylor 1 all in this match. Ella and Hailey also got kills on the board! We reffed the first match of bracket-play, which was followed by the most exciting game of our day- we played our very own 15 Purple. As coaches, we wish our girls played with the same enthusiasm and effort in every game as they did in this one. We went from seeing players watch balls drop in front of them earlier in the day, to seeing our girls run clear across the court to ensure a point was not given away without a fight. We lost the first set 12-25, but the girls did not hang their heads because they felt it; they felt what is was like to truly work as a team and WANT the win. We rallied hard and worked as a team to FINALLY win our first-ever game of the season 25-17. Hooray, the match went to three games! The energy was so high and we ultimately lost the third game 7-15, but that overall loss didn't matter because we finally won a set and the reaction by our players was priceless. Every player was beaming with pride and big smiles. We gathered for a quick group picture with 15 Purple and left our fourth tournament on a high note.

League #1

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29TH

What a weekend for 15 White! Sadly, we played our first League Tournament at Cal Expo down one player as Rachel is out with an ankle injury. We started the day off by reffing. Then, we led into our first win of the season! We played NNJ 15 Sterling-The girls battled extremely hard in all three games to their first ever Victory. In this match alone, Jackie had 15 digs and 4 Aces. Right after, we played FPVC which again went to three games. By this time the girls were tired but fighting so hard to keep up their energy. This is when we really noticed the change in defense for our team. Balls that would have easily dropped just two weeks ago were being chased after and dove for. Who was this team? Taylor, had to adjust to the new position of playing front and back row because Rachel is out and in this match. Not only did she adapt and learn the rotation quickly, she got her first kill! Chelsea had 12 digs, 3 kills, and 1 block in this match as well. We enjoyed a nice Pasta Bar supplied by our lovely parents, then we went into bracket play. Our first match was against SSVC 16 White. Chelsea served 11 serves in a row getting us a nice lead in the first set of the match. Notably, Megan had 8 digs, 3 kills, and 1 block in this match. The girls won in three sets! Our last and final match of the day also went to three games but all of the girls really shined during this match. Keeley had three kills in less than three minutes. Ella had 3 aces, 8 digs, 1 kill, and 6 assists. Chelsea had 3 aces, 10 digs, 5 kills, and 1 block. Hailey had two kills and set two perfect sets for a teammate to hit and keep the play alive! Megan had 5 digs and 1 kill. Annie had 5 digs and 2 assists. Jackie aced 1 serve and had 4 digs. Taylor had 1 ace and 14 digs. All of those stats were just in the last match of the day. We are so unbelievably proud of the progress and effort all of the girls showed on Saturday. Each match the girls played went to three games which turns out to be a very exhausting day for all of our players, but they were determined- not only did they get their first ever win, they got THREE and won their bracket!
