Coach Sergio started his volleyball career at the age of 14 playing for Legends Volleyball Club of Sacramento and Christian Brothers High School. A libero turned setter, he helped lead his Christian Brothers team to a Capital Athletic League and San Joaquin Section title, the school’s first for boys volleyball. He went on to play club volleyball at UC Davis where he was a three year starter and captain before covid ended his senior season early.
Entering his 6th year of coaching, Sergio brings to Dynamix multiple levels of experience having been on club, high school, and collegiate coaching staffs. Most recently coaching with OMNI Volleyball Club in Sacramento, Sergio has worked with youth athletes at Legends, Synergy Force, and Rage volleyball clubs. He also spent many years coaching beach volleyball with Moxie Beach Volleyball Club. Sergio also joined Jesuit High School's volleyball program as an assistant coach for the JV team this past season and looks forward to returning next spring.
At the collegiate level, Sergio spent two years as an Undergraduate Volunteer Assistant for the UC Davis Women's Volleyball indoor program. While with the Aggies Sergio was responsible for film and statistics, as well as assisting during practices. After this, Sergio joined the UC Davis Women's Beach Volleyball staff as an undergraduate assistant for their inaugural 2019 season.
